After completing McNally's Charger in the Muscle Cars section, I decided to continue with this theme and do a model for McNally's attorney, Charlotte "Charlie" Rothmann. My influence for this build was a similar Caddy STS-V that I saw at the recent Classic Plastic show. As I have said before, this is more about the build than the story. The story is just to show what is driving this build.
The Story
Charlotte "Charlie" Rothman is an attorney to be reckoned with. And respected. A graduate from Harvard Law School, she is very sharp, dedicated, and powerful lawyer who stands by her client, win or lose. She works long hours, has very little time for a social life, and relies greatly on her friend, private investigator McNally to get her the facts to help her clients.
She is usually seen driving her BMW 740 until she was sideswiped by a drunk driver and that driver's insurance company, fearing a rather large law suit, offered to pay for the damage immediately. After dropping off the BMW at the BMW/Cadillac dealership body shop for an estimate, she wandered into the showroom and spotted a metallic red Cadillac STS-V almost calling her by name. Being a very attractive woman, 3 salesmen immediately offered to assist her, but Charlie said she would only deal with the sales manager, whom she knew. An hour later, Charlie drove out of the dealership in her new Caddy STS-V.
The Build
For this build I am using Revell's Uptown Cadillac STS-V kit and will transform it into as stock of a Caddy as I can. The bling features such as the overly large wheels and stereo will be eliminated.
I will be substituting the kit wheels for a set of Pegasus Vanquish wheels. The paint is Tamiya TS-39 Mica Red.
Bodywork has begun with the disassembly of the "Lambo" style supports for the doors, which will be glued onto the body instead. I will need to add exterior door handles including the recessed pockets behind the handles.
More to come.....
